Textron's Systems [1] is comprised of five businesses, including subsidiaries and operating divisions. Textron Systems is known for its unmanned aircraft systems, armored vehicles, advanced marine craft, intelligent battlefield and surveillance systems, intelligence software solutions, precision smart weapons, piston engines, test and training systems, and total life cycle sustainment service. In 2008, these businesses generated 15 percent of Textron's total revenues. This segment has manufacturing facilities in 3 countries, and approximately 6,400 employees, of which 1 percent are based outside the United States.

Currently, more than half the world's general aviation fleet, both rotary and fixed wing, is powered by Lycoming® [3] piston engines.
